Louise Mayzer

MAYZER, Louise Harriet (Levine) of Dover, NH, aged 95. Entered into rest peacefully on August 6, 2017 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital surrounded by her family. Louise lived a long beautiful life. Dear daughter of the late Lena & Isador Kagan of Dorchester, MA. She grew up in a large family along with a brother and three sisters. Beloved wife of the late Harold Levine whom she married in 1947, and the late Irving Mayzer. Devoted mother of Amy McGuire and her husband Mark of Somersworth, NH, Mark Levine and his wife Maryellen of Tucson, AZ, and step-sons, David Mayzer and his wife Marilyn of Yarmouthport, MA and Mark Mayzer and his wife Sydney of Holliston, MA. Loving sister of Shirley Lezberg and her husband Milton of Sharon, MA. Grandmother of ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Louise always made time for family, spending summers at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, and going on family trips to NH and Florida. After her first husband passed, Louise made Florida her home for the next 40 years. She married Irving Mayzer, and they had many wonderful adventures together, traveling to Israel, Hawaii, and a cross country road trip. Because family was so important to her, Louise moved back to Massachusetts in 2010. Louise had many hobbies including needlepoint, knitting, ceramics, shopping, and playing cards. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Louise always loved butterflies, and she was herself a social butterfly, remaining active throughout her life with many circles of friends. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 12:45 pm. Memorial observance to be determined. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her memory may be made to either the American Cancer Society, www.cancer. org or the American Heart Association, www.onlineaha.org.
