Madeline "Maddie" E. (Herman) Baumberg

Wife of Robert Baumberg. Devoted mother of Penny (Paul) Gordon of Needham, MA; Jody Salter-Spear of Bridgewater MA; and Lori (Kurt) Raber of Falmouth, MA. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Gordon, Marlee Baumberg, Rebekah Raber, Jessica Spear, Beth Gordon, Jeremy Raber, Rachel Spear, Jacob Spear. Dear daughter of the late Louis and Ruth Herman. Extended family includes Peter Baumberg, Laura and Gregg Baker, Marissa Baker, Nicole Baker, Shari and Jimmy Hall, Miriam Hall, Natalie Hall.

She grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and was part of the first graduating class of Newton South High School in 1961. She attended New York University and Emerson College where she studied communication. She raised her beloved three daughters in the city of Newton.

Maddie was active in local politics, volunteered in her children’s schools when they were young, enjoyed playing tennis, playing Mahjong, gardening, spending time at the beach and painting with acrylics. She cherished her time spent with family and friends most of all.

A funeral service for Maddie will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 1:00 pm at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA with interment at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon MA. Services will be available on livestream at tinyurl.com/MBaumbergService

Shiva will be held at the home of Jody Spear, immediately following the funeral and interment, and will continue through the evening. Evening Minyan will be at 7:30 pm. On Friday, April 29th, Shiva will continue to be observed at the home of Lori and Kurt Raber beginning at 2:00pm; as well as on Friday, April 29th from 2:00-5:00 pm and Saturday, April 30th from 7:00-9:00 pm at the home of Penny and Paul Gordon.
