Marjorie was born on January 1st, 1944 to Moxie Dobkin and Eleanor (Wise) Dobkin in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Marjorie was known to be a special friend to an unbelievably wide group of people. She had an uncanny ability to listen, and not just to listen but to somehow bring other people out. She was a gentle soul who influenced so many people who felt a specialness about her. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Her skill for asking crucial and insightful questions endeared her to many and led her to a career in Social Work. She was a highly skilled artist of embroidery and botanical watercolor.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Philip Askenase, daughters Isabel Stover and Hilary Tordai, grandchildren Felix and Nathan Stover and Everly and Leo Tordai, and siblings Lois Jacobson, Barbara Tarlin and Paul Fleischer.
