Marjorie Beth (Ennis) Erlich of North Easton, previously a longtime Stoughton resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 81 years of age. Daughter of the late Pearl (Milgroom) and Jonas Ennis. Loving wife of the late Paul L. Erlich. Beloved mother of Scott Erlich and his wife Jackie of North Easton, and Stacey Chisholm and her husband Kenneth, of Raynham. Cherished grandmother of Jake, Jessica and Patrick. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Arthur Erlich and his wife Ruth of Malden; her nephew Lew and his wife Sue; and her niece Marcie Erlich, also of Malden.
Marge was born in Boston on October 9, 1944, attended Brookline High School, and then UMass-Amherst and Boston University, where she received her college degree in 1966.
She married her high school boyfriend, Paul, in 1967. They were together for 45 years, until his death in 2011. They enjoyed weekend adventures, traveling and raising a family together. They were a team – best friends who stuck together and navigated the highs and lows of life, with resilience and love.
Marge loved teaching. She taught elementary school in the Brockton and Stoughton school systems for 25 years, won multiple “teacher of the year” awards, and built tight bonds with her colleagues and students, many of whom saw her around town and thanked her for being a positive influence in their lives.
As her friends and family know, Marge had a big personality, a great sense of humor, and easily connected with people of all ages and backgrounds. She loved reading, shopping, Mah Jong, the theater and music of all types – from Pink, to Queen to Donna Summer. She had many close friends, treated them like family, and stayed tight with them until the end.
Marge lived for her family, and had a beautiful bond with her three grandkids. She cherished them, and attended all their school, sports, musical and theater events – no matter the distance, the weather or her health at the time. She’d stay late, after the games and plays had ended, to talk to and congratulate her grandkids, their friends and teammates. She knew them. And they knew her.
She was a legend – a smart, tough, fun-loving lady, with a zest for life. She will be remembered, and she will be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Chapel Funeral Service on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, in Canton. Burial will immediately follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Shiva will be held the same day, after the burial, from about 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at a location to be shared at the funeral service.
