Melvin A. Hamilton of Sharon, previously of Bangor Maine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 90 years of age. Son of the late Anna (Gass) Bloom and Samuel Hamilton. Loving husband of Marlene F. (Kaufman) Hamilton of 67 years. Beloved father of Karen Benoit and her husband Christopher of Methuen, Joanne Lemberger and her husband Michael of Dudley, and Kenneth Hamilton and his wife Marina of Virginia. Cherished grandfather of seven. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert & Norman. Survived by his sister Joyce Carle of Florida.
Melvin was born on August 31, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts. After serving in the US Army, he attended Husson College in Bangor, Maine. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Office of the State Auditor for 50 years. After which time he enjoyed his retirement.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 1 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial will be held privately at a later date. A gathering will be held following the service at his former home.
