
Mildred “Millie” Liff of Canton, MA, formerly of Little Neck, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 95, on May 2nd. Millie was born on December 14, 1930 in The Bronx, NY. After marrying her husband Walter in 1950 they moved to Queens. They were married 54 years, Walter passed away in 2004. Millie lived in Queens until 2023, when she moved to an assisted living facility in Canton, MA, to be closer to her family.
Millie was the first in her family to graduate from college and became an educator, teaching kindergarten in New York City. She raised a family and cared for her ailing mother, and later her husband. During the summers, she was senior staff at a summer camp in the Adirondack mountains and traveled the world, including multiple trips to Israel. She enjoyed playing and watching tennis, playing bridge, and especially attending the theater. She owned a townhouse in Boca Raton, FL, that was visited by her family during February school vacations and gave everyone a welcome respite from New England winters.
Millie will be fondly remembered as a kind, gentle, and loving person who positively touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She made sure those around her felt loved and appreciated. She is survived by her twin sons, Perry and his wife Gloria, Stephen and his wife Patrice, 5 grandchildren (Sarah, Daniel, Jonathan, Marc, and Rachel) and 4 great-grandchildren (Madelyn, Michael, Wesley and Cameron). She is also survived by her sister Pearl and many nieces and nephews.
