

Born in Boston in 1927, he was a proud WWII veteran. He graduated Northeastern University, going to night school while supporting his growing family. By 20, he started his career in the trimming industry finishing his career at Trim Trends in the South End. Mike retired to Delray Beach at age 70 along with his beloved wife, Nat, and immediately took up golf, becoming a club champion, including winning four senior championships at age 85. A lifelong, excellent card player, he took up bridge in his 80s and mastered that as well. A devoted Boston sports fan, who particularly enjoyed watching his Pats at Schaefer Stadium and the Red Sox at Fenway.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Natalie; three daughters, Ronni Shapiro, Lisabeth Shapiro (Victor Rhea), Debra Shapiro and her wife, Lisa Weissmann. Also survived by three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, all of whom he adored. In his last year, he was blessed to celebrate one grandson's wedding, the birth of a great-granddaughter, his 75th wedding anniversary and the 95th birthday of his wife, just 3 weeks ago. He was a wonderful husband and dad who will be forever missed by his family and all who knew him. We were so lucky to have him in our lives.
Funeral services at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton at 10 AM on Thursday, October 31st.
Shiva Service will be on Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM, at Deb Shapiro's home in Watertown.
