

Naomi Flink Zucker of Canton, MA, formerly of Kingston, RI, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 86 years of age. Daughter of the late Florence (Rothman) and Salomon Flink. Loving wife of the late Norman L. Zucker for over 63 years, prior to his passing on February 4, 2025. Mother of Sara Zucker and Sam Zucker; mother-in-law of Jay Plumb and Jennifer Foster; grandmother of Raphaella Plumb, Isaac Zucker, and Zalman Zucker; and sister of Rachael Flink Jackson and Jonah Flink.
Naomi was born in New York on August 6, 1938. She received her bachelor’s degree from Douglas College and a master’s from the University of Rhode Island where she was a writing instructor for many years. With her husband, Naomi co-authored two books on American refugee policy. Later she wrote three fiction books for children, one of which was translated into Dutch! After retirement, she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, helping children who were experiencing difficult family circumstances. She was a talented writer, a wizard at crossword puzzles, a phenomenal cook, and a passionate proponent of ideas and causes that were important to her.
A Funeral Service for Naomi will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 1:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA (please note that this chapel has two locations). Burial will follow at Temple B’nai Brith Cemetery in Peabody, MA.
Shiva will be held on Friday, May 23 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the home of Sara Zucker, and on Sunday, May 25 at 2:00 PM over Zoom. Please contact Stanetsky Memorial Chapel at 781-821-4600 for access information.
