Son of the late Leah (Rothman) and Hanan Matz. Loving husband of Jeanette L. Matz for 57 years. Beloved father of Sharon Matz and Gayle Costa-Matz and her wife Tracy Costa-Matz. Cherished grandfather of Leah Donners, CJ Wisnaskas, and Kevin Donners, Jr. Devoted great-grandfather of Lilyana Murray. Brother of Mark Bebo, Richard Bebo, Donna Emery and the late Joseph Bebo.
Phillip was born in Boston on May 26, 1946. He was a Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He spent his life working on machines and engines with a passion for cars and motorcycles. He retired from Johnson and Johnson in 2008, then he lived out the remaining time of his life doing what he loved, driving fast and living dangerously surrounded by the ones whom he loved and cherished.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:45 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Following services, family and friends are cordially invited to the home of Gayle and Tracy Costa-Matz to celebrate Phillip’s life.
