Robert was born in Boston, October 30, 1939, to Anna (Isaacs) and Jack Olans. Bob lived in Dorchester until his family moved to Newton, where he attended Newton High, and spent his summers at a house on H Street in Nantasket Beach. Bob attended Boston University and began his career after a short stint at law school. At J. Baker in Canton, Robert was a buyer for 30 years where he worked alongside his best friend Maxene Rinkovsky. Bob enjoyed spending time with friends and making small bets at Suffolk Downs and at Wonderland Park.
He was devoted to his mother and managed her care later in life. During Covid, Robert moved to Cornerstone in Canton, and met the love of his life, Patricia (Pat) Allen of Syracuse NY. Robert is survived by Pat, his best friend Maxene, his sister Barbara (Olans) Herman, his nieces Linsey Herman and Amanda Tischbier, and his beloved grand-niece Frida Tischbier.
A Graveside Service will take place on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Congregation Chai Odom Cemetery, 2690 Centre Street, W. Roxbury.
