Roselyn Holt

Roselyn (Roz) Holt of Dedham, previously of Lexington, Arlington and Dorchester, passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2026 at the age of 94. Daughter of the late Sadie (Silverman) and William Wolfe. Loving wife of the late Edward L. Holt for 55 years. Beloved mother of Karen Brenner and her husband Mark, Judy Klein and her husband Jeffrey, and Paul Holt and his wife Amy. Cherished grandmother of Rebecca and Ezra Barnehama, Arielle and Ben Williams, Dana and Matt Starr, Zachary Holt, Joshua and Sarah Klein, and Daniel Klein. Treasured great-grandmother to Ayla, Eli, Zoe, Charlotte, Mia, Leah, and Tommy. Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. The fifth of six children, Roz was predeceased by each of her siblings, George Remer, Allan Wolfe, Estelle Block, David Wolfe, and Anne Silva.

Roz was one of six siblings and grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Inspired by her mother, the family's beloved matriarch, Roz developed the same unwavering devotion to family that would define her own life.

Together, Roz and her husband, Eddie, built E.L. Holt Company from their home in Lexington. While Eddie traveled to grow the business, Roz expertly managed the company's operations. As the business evolved into GroupComp Systems, their son, Paul, and daughter, Karen, joined the family business. To employees, Roz and Eddie were more than business owners—they created a workplace built on kindness and feeling of family. Roz was also an active member of NEWBO (New England Women Business Owners), where she was the family business’ top networker.

A lifelong competitor, Roz loved the game of tennis and played for many years. Later, she turned her passion to walking, rarely missing a day with her favorite music playing and her competitive spirit leading the way.

In 2009, Roz and Eddie became among the first residents of NewBridge on the Charles. She quickly became known as the unofficial "Mayor of NewBridge," launching traditions that continue today, including the Hospitality Table, Coffee Connection, birthday celebrations, and the community library system. She warmly welcomed new residents and helped raise funds for the NewBridge Scholarship Fund.

Above all, Roz believed family was life's greatest blessing. She joyfully hosted holiday gatherings for years and instilled in her family the importance of putting family first, forgiving quickly, and always finding the positive. Her kindness, generosity, optimism, and unwavering love leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 28th at 10 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.

Shiva will immediately follow services until 4 PM and then again from 6 PM to 8 PM at the home of Karen and Mark Brenner.

Shiva will continue on Wednesday from 1 PM to 3 PM at Newbridge on the Charles, 5000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham.
