Selma (Blankstein) Lazar, of Auburndale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 99 years of age. Daughter of the late Helen (Tannenbaum) and Harrison Blankstein. Loving wife of the late Lester G. Lazar. Beloved mother of Alan Lazar of Glendale, CA and Judith Platt and her husband Russell of Framingham, MA. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth, Gregory and his wife Jenny, and Benjamin and his wife Ada. Great-grandmother of Sawyer, Lucy, and Wesley. Sister of Aileen Sperber. Selma was born in the Bronx, NY. She and Lester were happily married for 51 years. Selma worked as an administrative assistant at Harvard University and at Babson College. She was a skilled bridge player, a drummer, an avid theater-goer and as a resident at Lasell Village in Newton, MA, an enthusiastic participant in the Voices of Experience, a musical theater performance group. The family will hold a private graveside ceremony and a celebration of her life at Lasell Village.
