Suzanne was born on March 18,1939 at the Wyman House in Cambridge, MA (a sign no one would realize for many years to come). She had a childhood where she was loved and adored by her late parents Ethel (Kornberg ) Z”L and Frank Robinson Z”L. At the age of 3 1/2 her sister Leslie (Carpe) was born, and she became the big sister she always dreamed of. Our mother has always loved her sister and cherished how close they were in their later years. Her childhood was filled with time spent with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Family has always been important to both of our parents. As a child, our mother lived in Brighton and Newton and graduated from Newton High School. That is when her story REALLY begins!
At the young age of 16, Suzanne's friend Gail Krasnow asked if she would like to go with her to “the farm" in Bridgewater to visit family and see the cows. Our mother said “yes,” never imaging her life would never be the same again! On that day our mother met the love of her life, better known at that time as Bobby Wyman Z”L. Their courtship would include our father driving the farm truck to see our mother in the city, bringing donuts to our grandmother, and our mother taking the bus to Bridgewater to see our father.
April 20, 1959 our 19-year-old mother married her soul mate. She left the city behind and started her life as a Dairy Farmer's wife, which many years later evolved into a family partnership in a thriving 50-plus community. And a beautiful and blessed life she had!
Our parents built home in Bridgewater. They traveled worldwide with both friends and family. They were fortunate to have a winter home in Delray Beach, FL and a summer home in Onset where they eventually retired.
Our mother was very proud of her Jewish heritage. She was very involved with Temple Beth Emunah, a synagogue her loving in-laws Sarah Z”L and Saul Wyman Z”L were co-founders of. As an adult, she became a Bat Mitzvah.
Our mother was an avid reader. Buying eight books at one time was not an unusual sight. She loved to knit. You are very fortunate if you have been a receiver of one of her beautiful sweaters, afghans, scarfs, mittens, and even ponchos.
Our mother only wanted her family happy, and that was to a fault. The family joke is "don’t say you like something or you just might get it." She has literally taken the necklace off her neck, the hat off her head, and the throw off the sofa and given them to you on the spot!
If you asked our mother what her greatest joy in life was - besides our father - she would say her family. Our parents were blessed and proud of their children children: Mark and Wendy Wyman of Middleboro, Betsy Chouinard of Bridgewater, and Judith and Andy Scichilone of Sandwich. Grandchildren Stephanie Wyman of Middleboro; Andrew Scichilone of Portland, Maine; Samuel Wyman of England; Emily and Joel Willbrant of Kingston; and Harrison Chouinard of Bridgewater. And great-grandchildren Riley, Caleb, Jasper, and Theodore.
There are two defining moments in our mother's life. The day she met our father and the day she lost our father.
There were moments in between: both good and bad. Births of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, death of her parents, in-laws, brothers-in-laws Ronald Carpe Z"L and Kenneth Spector Z"L. Homes bought, vacations taken. But nothing impacted our mother more than the love she and our father shared. They say time helps and you adjust and move on, but she never did. She couldn’t. So as sad as we all are today, there is peace in knowing she is finally whole again and with the true love of her life.
Service and shiva are private. We are only having immediate family as this was our mother’s final wish, we appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
