William "Bill" Allan Wheeler, 75, of Norton, MA, passed away on August 10, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Bill was born November 7, 1947 to the late Harris and Esther Wheeler. He was raised in Revere, MA with his sister, the late Barbara Strachman. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University and later earned his Graduate Degree from Suffolk University. After graduating, he went on to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 30 years and later for Besler Consulting.
Bill was an avid Boston sports fan. He rarely ever missed a Red Sox game either by attending it in person or watching it on television. He enjoyed vacationing in the Caribbean and spending time with his family. Bill was happily married for 50 years to his wife, Penny. After marrying, they settled in Stoughton, Massachusetts where they raised their family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Penny (Albert) Wheeler and his two children: Danielle Wheeler of Plainville, MA and Scott Wheeler and his wife Erin Wheeler of Westborough, MA. He also leaves four grandchildren: Joey Abbate, Will Abbate, Casey Wheeler, and Ryan Wheeler. He is also survived by his nephew Jeff Strachman and his wife Stephanie of Sudbury, MA.
Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park. Memorial observance will be held at his late residence in Norton, MA immediately following the services until 9:00 PM.
