I was shocked to read of Alex's passing in the Lehman Journal that just came out. Acia, I am so sorry for your loss.  Alex was a great guy.  My sympathy is with you and your family.

Acia and the Shaheen family, I just heard about your loss and wanted to send my condolences to you all.  From our elementary and high school days I have many fond memories of Alex.  What a special man.  I know he will be missed by many; gone too soon.

Alex was a dear friend and mentor to me. A gentle man, with a big heart and a role model for me just coming out of school. We grew close through long office nights where we would look at cars, talk sports and life philosophy. He nurtured and was keenly aware of the well being of those around him, he was my best friend at work and always kind and helpful outside of work. He will be missed tremendously and I will carry the spirit of his wisdom and humor for life. RIP Alex, love to the family he would brag about everyday in his subtle and graceful manner, he is proud of all of you and loves you dearly!
