Audrey Jean Ream

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband of seventy-two years, Harold "Hal" Ream, who passed on July 3, 2021. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ida Mae Moses; her children, Gayle (Dave) Noble, Harold Ream, Jr., Thomas (Marcy) Ream, and Carol (Tim) Popa; her grandchildren, Don (Theresa) Noble, Rob Noble, Elizabeth Noble (Brendan Riordan), Matthew (Leslie) Noble, Brian and Sean Ream, and Caitlin and Scott Popa; and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Hanna), Stephanie, Natalie, Charlotte, and James Noble, and Audrey, and Hazel Page.

She graduated from McKinley High School with the Class of 1947, where she played basketball on the Harvard team, and went on to work at the Hoover Company before marrying Harold "Hal" Ream on November 8, 1948. As a devoted homemaker, she later worked at the Information Desk at Aultman Hospital, where she enjoyed many friendships. She was a faithful, lifelong member of Trinity United Christ Church of Christ in Canton, Ohio.

She generously gave her time to her community as a Girl Scout leader, a grade school room mother, and a longtime poll worker on election days. She cherished her many trips to Las Vegas and other destinations, where she loved the casinos and her favorite nickel slots.

She played cards with her friends throughout her life and never lost her enthusiasm for a good game of euchre. Audrey was an avid reader, who often read the ending first. She was also remembered fondly for her love of her dog, Clyde, who famously followed her home from work one day and became a cherished member of the family.

Above all, her greatest joy was her family, especially the time spent doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She grew up during the Great Depression in circumstances that were often challenging, and those experiences gave her a lasting sense of gratitude and an appreciation for simplicity.

Her family will remember her as a woman of quiet strength, warmth, and grace — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose love for her family shaped generations. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the values she instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Open calling hours will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road, NW Canton, Ohio from 4 – 7 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026. A private, immediate family funeral service will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026 with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Garden.
