Bonnie Jean Regula

Bonnie Jean (Braucher) Regula, 76, was born June 11, 1950, in Canton to the late Blaine and Donna (Reed) Braucher. Raised in Jackson Township in a home adjoining the old Braucher Family Farm, she was a nearly lifelong Jackson Township resident. Her journey took her to Heaven on August 30, 2026.

Bonnie graduated from Jackson HS in 1968, where she was a proud member of Charles Temple’s band. Most would never hear it from her as she considered it both braggadocious and ancient history, but it was revealed by higher education encouraging school counselors that she had the second highest IQ in her graduating class. She was awarded an academic scholarship to attend Miami University (of Ohio) and dreamed of someday becoming a journalist, an archaeologist, or an anthropologist. Unfortunate family circumstances intervened, however, and as a dutiful daughter, she chose to abide by and care for her parents instead of attending college. Much later in life she went on to complete various career-related courses at Stark State.

Bonnie’s early forays into the work world included the Advertising Director for Cutler Realtors and a position as an Operations Coordinator for North American Van Lines, but it was with the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services that she found her career path. She worked there as a Caseworker and then as a QA Review Specialist. Her big heart for helping those in need and her keen investigative mind for uncovering fraud served her, and the people of Stark County, well. She retired from SCJFS after 25 years to fully pursue the hobby/business of antiquing alongside her late husband, Tim.

A creative woman of many interests and talents, Bonnie not only loved auctions, flea markets, and antiquing, but was an avid writer who also enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, and preparing grand meals for her family. She was an experimental chef always coming up with amazing creative recipes, platings, and presentations. She was up for any challenge and good at a great many things. An accomplished problem solver and the matriarch of the family, she could always be relied on for inspired guidance and sage advice. More-or-less raised on a working farm, Bonnie loved animals. Some of her earliest childhood memories were of enjoying being placed atop Bob the big plowhorse. She kept various pets over her lifetime, and especially adored Boston Terriers; one of her greatest hopes was that she would find her departed good girls, Peggy Sue and Pansy, waiting for her in Heaven.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death, less than a year ago, by her loving and caring husband, Timothy R Regula. Her eldest brother, Bruce Braucher; and brothers-in-law Fred Dietz and Jeffrey Kemp also preceded her in death. She is survived by her shining star, son Rev Ryan T Regula. She also leaves a brother, Brian (Maritza) Braucher; a special sister, Brenda Braucher; and dearest friend, Brenda Currence. All reside in Stark County. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Laura Saftner, of Starke, Fl and three step-granddaughters Megan, Melody and Marissa; great step-grandchildren Hunter, Madeline and Henry; sisters-in-law Louise Dietz, Lynn Braucher, and Rose Kemp; brother-in-law Tom (MaryJo) Regula; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Her sweet Boston Terrier, Piper, will miss her very much.
