

The world lost a beautiful woman and God has a new angel; Bonnie Jean (McDowell) Williams passed away on Tuesday, April 17th. 2012. She was born June 2nd, 1922 to Keziah & James McDowell in Youngstown, Ohio and grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her older sister, Annie Lowe and survived by her younger brother, John McDowell of Orlando, Florida. She was a member of the Eastern Star and McDonaldsville United Methodist Church. She was the Food Supervisor for Jackson Local Schools and retired after 26 years.
It all started with a sailor and his girl… Bonnie is preceded in death by her partner for 58 years, Donald Williams. She is survived by her 4 daughters: Donna & Jim Powell, Nancy & Joel Buzgan, Irene & Tom Swallen, and Janet & Eric Caspersen as well as her 12 grandchildren: Jim & Christine Powell, Heather & Chip Null, Dawn & Bill Stitt, Andrea & Dan Smith, Robert & Beth Powell, Seth & Deone Swallen, Mark Casper, Melanie & Rob Dower, Betsy & Rob Adamson, Meredith Casper, Chelsea Caspersen, and Clayton Casper in addition to a legacy of 21 great-grand-children; and many loving nieces and nephews.
With her hands Bonnie talked for the deaf, grew gardens and a magnificent bed of roses. She sewed, knitted, clothed her family and mended all the beloved stuffed animals of her grandchildren. With handmade strawberry jam and Pennsylvania Dutch Bot Boi she fed the masses of her family. Up until her last moments her hands were filled with warmth and love as well as those hands of her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00am in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday, 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank The Colonies at Windsor Medical Center and Aultman Hospice. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Aultman Hospice and the Compassionate Care Center.
