He was born on April 27, 1959 in Canton, Ohio to Carol and Shelton “JR” Criswell. He graduated from Lehman High School, was a member of Boy Scout Troop 228, and a supporter of the Camp Tuscazoar Foundation.
He is preceded in death by his father. Brian is survived by his mother Carol Criswell, sister Janice Griffin, and three nephews.
Brian would not have wanted a formal funeral, so instead we're doing a cook-out at his Boy Scout camp, Camp Tuscazoar. It will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 2pm to 7pm. Camp and Mom and I will provide meats and Brian's friend Nancy is bringing s'more ingredients. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
In lieu of flowers, we're asking that you make a donation to the Camp Tuscazoar Stockade project. Brian helped rebuild the camp's stockade gate back in 98, and we think he would be honored to have a hand in the current project. I will post a link to the camp's website and brochure shortly, so you know how to find the place. Bring the kids. It'll be fun.
