The roses in the window box have tilted to one side as Carol M. Steiner left this world and entered the Kingdom of God on February 28, 2021. As the Angels cheer, we mourn the passing of our dear, sweet Mother.
Carol was born to Herbert and Elizabeth Miller and graduated from North Canton High School. But her true education came from her avid reading, travel, culture and the Arts. Carol had many passions: gardening, baking, hosting family gatherings and making everything perfect. Yet the most important passion was her family. Carol was so kind, graceful, witty, sagacious, funny, fun, really smart and beautiful inside and out. While her hands became hardened from all the hard work and toiling in the soil to create amazing gardens, her hands always offered sweet and soft comfort to her loved ones.Carol had many names: Carol, Mom, Mommy, Boogs, Aunt Carol, but her most fitting name was “Nana”. She epitomized the BEST of what a “Nana” can be. We will forever miss our Dear Nana.
Carol is preceded in death by her ever-loving husband, Donald C. Steiner, and her wonderful son, Mark G. Zimmerman.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Rev. Robert) Linsz and Brian (Lindsay) Zimmerman, grandchildren: Amanda Upp, Molly Weisel, Gregory Hofmeister, Brian Zimmerman II and Stella Zimmerman, and five incredible great-grandchildren. Godspeed Dear Mother.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Stark County Library or the The Wilderness Center would be appreciated.
