Eck, as he was called by many, was a simple man. He came to Canton from Unicoi, TN with his first wife, Loretta (Lewis), to raise a family. He worked his whole life as a brake and roll operator. And when he remarried, his family got even bigger. He always did what he could, even if it meant not being able to keep a $20 in his wallet. He loved to fish, chew tobacco, to collect model cars and always having one of those little dogs that always seemed to need a haircut. But most of all, he loved his family. He will truly be missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie (Robinson) Holbrook; sons, Boyd Holbrook and Charles Jr; brothers, Roy Holbrook, Ward Holbrook, and Brice Teague; and step-daughter, Margaret Kuhn.
He is survived by his three sons, Curtis Holbrook, Donald (Gail) Holbrook and David Holbrook; two Stepsons, Wes Shelton and Virgil Shelton; three daughters, Deborah Holbrook, Martha Cricks and Tina Seabolt; step-daughter, Felicia Shaffer; and Sister, Robbie Vaccaro. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 11:00am-1:00pm in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 1:00pm at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
