Cheryl Lynn Messerly

Cheryl was born in Massillon on October 24, 1946, to the late Jack and Margaret (Bushman) Stauffer. She was a graduate of Louisville High School. She worked as a seamstress for Dutch Girl Cleaners for about 35 years. Cheryl enjoyed spending her free time bowling, golfing, and reading.

In 2003, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband of 18 months, Ron Messerly. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margaret, her eldest son, Richard Lloyd, her grandson, Zecharia Lloyd, and her brother-in-law, Don Burkhart.

Cheryl is survived by two children, Laura (Craig) Sampsel and Stephen (Janette) Lloyd, five grandchildren: Haley (Jordan) Szymanski, Kyla (Garett) Orpurt, Kally Lloyd, Caitlin (Don) Kotnik, and Andrew Sampsel; five great-grandchildren, Parker and Bishop Szymanski, and Josephine, Caroline, and Anna Kotnik; her sister, Jackie Burkhart, her niece, Lisa Jones, and her nephew, Michael Esterline.

Per Cheryl’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
