Cheryl was born December 27, 1960, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of William and Margaret (Snurr) Hammers. She graduated from Timken High School in 1979 and spent 32 years with the Hoover Company. Then, in her early fifties, she began studying medical billing and coding, completing her training at Portage Lakes Career Center. She was already working in the field when she earned her Certified Professional Coder credential in November 2013. In 2021 she added a second credential, Certified Risk Adjustment Coder. She spent more than a decade as a medical coding and billing specialist, work that followed her from Ohio to Florida, and retired from Centene in 2025 after five years with the company. She held both certifications, current and active, to the end of her life. On June 20, 2006, she married Richard Morabito. They shared twenty years together.
Cheryl loved to travel, especially by cruise ship, and treasured card games and board games with her siblings and grandchildren. She showed her love through cooking and baking, and was the one her family and friends turned to for support and care. Her family was the center of her life, and the memories she made with those who loved her most are her lasting gift to them.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Richard Morabito; her children, Tiffany Craddock (Scott), Christina Fritz (Grant), and Robert "Robbie" Paumier (Tera), all of Louisville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kaci Craddock, Kenzie Craddock, Skyler Paumier, Grayson Paumier, Letsey Paumier, Luka Paumier, Briley Wike and Brenton Wike; her stepchildren, Angela "Angi" Morabito, Amy Halls (Jim), and Richard "Rick" Morabito (Erin); her step-grandchildren, Ava Halls, Olivia White, Anthony Morabito, and Emma Morabito; her siblings, Patricia "Pat" Shammo (Nelson) and Richard "Rich" Hammers; and nieces and nephews: Leah Wright, Alex Hammers, and Elizabeth Hammers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Hammers.
