Clarissa I. Taylor

Clarissa I. Taylor, age 87, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 1, 1923 in Big Otter, W.VA to the late David & Sadie (Sears) Ray. Clarissa was a charter member of Ravenna Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son “Little Jimmy”, sisters Virgie Marie Ray and Delma Taylor; and brothers, Robert & Dolan Ray.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rev. Carl J. (Jack) Taylor of Canton and a son, Ron (Jeannie) Taylor of Salem, Oregon; sisters Uneeda C. Ball of Louisville, Ohio, Della (Jack) Gregory of Conway, SC & Margaret (Bill) Schumaker of Florence, SC and brother O.C. (Cynara) Ray of Cheraw, SC.; several nieces & nephews including special nephew Ron J. Bower of Columbus, Ohio; very special friend Patty Burnham of Canton.

Friends will be received 5-8pm on Saturday, August 28th at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road N.W., Canton. Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Monday, August 30th at Pennington Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Gauley Bridge, W.VA. Rev. Carl Keller officiating. Friends may call 12-2pm on Monday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ravenna Free Will Baptist Church, 1000 Park Ave., Ravenna, Ohio .
