

Dave graduated from North High School in 1953 where he was an avid football player. He attended the University of Akron and served in the United States Air Force. Dave retired from R & L Carriers as Director of National Accounts.
Dave loved playing music, watching sports, talking politics, and attending his grandchildren’s events. He played the vibraphones and sang in his local jazz band, The Dave Carano Quartet in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Prior to that he had been a member of the Vince Didato Quartet as well as the Nuff Ray Band. Dave loved performing.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Falanga) Carano, whom he shared 50 years of marriage; his brother Dennis (Marilyn) Carano; his children Mark Carano and Lisa Carano; his grandchildren Lindsay, Amanda, and Tony Carano, Tyler and Mason Hawes, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Aultman Hospital, especially those in the CVSICU and LTAC units; and the staff at the Woodlawn Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday 5-8p.m. in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canton with burial at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canton or the Disabled Veterans Association.
