

Born April 14, 1940, Dave was the son of the late Harold I. Sr. and Martha (Miller) Hohler of North Canton. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Navy until 1962.
He worked for NCR Corp. in Canton where he met his wife Wilma (Jackson). They married Nov. 5, 1966. He later worked for Eastman Kodak Co.
Dave served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 12 years where he made enduring friendships. He was called to active duty during Operation Desert Storm in 1990-1991 at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily. He retired from the military in 1996.
In 1998, he and Wilma opened the Grinders Above and Beyond restaurant in Dover, which they owned and operated until 2015.
He enjoyed vintage cars and restoring a 1966 Mustang with his late son, Michael. He and Wilma also owned a cottage on Lake Erie for many years.
Dave is survived by his wife; his daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and John Bottar of Madison; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Joey Hohler of Dellroy; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Martin Teetzel of Colorado; grandchildren, Matthew Hohler and Abigail, Elizabeth and Owen Bottar; plus many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son; his parents; his brothers, Harold Hohler Jr. and Richard Hohler; his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Lesh; and nieces, Jennifer and Jessica Hohler.
Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with a private military service for the family.
