Diane was born in Elgin, Illinois on February 8, 1946, to the late Karl and Dorothy (Rudsinski) Leonard. She was a graduate of East High School in Denver Colorado. On June 5, 1965, Diane married David Burwell, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.
Diane is survived by her sons: Kevin (Leigh Ann) Burwell, and Keith (Lisa) Burwell; granddaughters: Olivia and Gabrielle Burwell; three brothers: Steve (Jan) Leonard, Tom (Deb) Leonard, and Ron Leonard; four step-grandchildren: Courtney, Jorden, Skyler, and Kendl; and two step-great-grandchildren: Karly and Lainey.
A visitation will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Per her wishes, Diane will be cremated and privately laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
