Donald was born on September 11, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, to Louis Lazar and Aurelia (Boldi) Lazar. He shared a deep and lifelong bond with his twin brother, Ronald Lazar. The two were inseparable from the start-true partners in crime throughout their childhood and teenage years.
He was a proud United States Army Veteran and the longtime owner of Lazar Music Services, serving the community for over 50 years. Through his work, he made a lasting impact on countless students and families, sharing not only music, but friendship, guidance, and a deep appreciation for the art that shaped his life.
Donald was known for his strong will and stubborn independence, always moving through life with a restless energy. He was drawn to the hum of a Harley, the pull of the open road, and the richness of lived experience in all its forms.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as Ronald Lazar. He is survived by his daughter, Lola Lazar; his son, Rafe Lazar; and his sister, Lori Lazar, who will forever remember him as a devoted father, loving brother, and loyal friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, OH 44718.
