Doreen was born September 25, 1956 in Youngstown, OH to the late Dorothy (Lotarski) and Frank Mika. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Nursing School, and provided 42 years of service as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Mercy Hospital in Youngstown. Doreen loved vacationing in the Outer Banks and visited every summer since 1981. It was her happy place. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but above all - her life revolved around her 3 daughters and her 3 grand sons. That was her true joy.
Doreen is survived by her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons, Jessica & Brian Bailey and Lincoln, Lindsay & Drew Hummer and Brayden & Chase, and Kaitlin & Brian Picone; sisters, Francine Maurer and Janine Petko; brother, Frank Mika; many nieces and nephews whom she loved; and friends who supported her all her life.
Following cremation, a private memorial celebration is planned. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mercy Hospice or Fight Like A Girl Foundation.
