He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Laverna; his four children, daughter, Violet Jacobsen (William), sons, Edward Kirkman, Jr. (Kathy), Joseph Kirkman (Angie), and Michael Kirkman; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and brother, Carl Kirkman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Violet (Thompson) Kirkman; brothers, Donald, Earl, and Bill; sisters, Peggy, Mary, Alice, Toby, and Lucille.
Edward retired from Shanafelt Manufacturing, a welder of 27 years. He lovingly enjoyed caring for his wife and dogs. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He loved his talks with Ed. Edward also loved cooking and was always in the kitchen. He loved to fish, and enjoyed his yard work. Edward enjoyed his countless trips to Walmart. He loved watching wrestling. He enjoyed playing cards on Sunday afternoons with his wife, son Joe, and his wife, Angie. But most of all, his stories ("Turn Around"& 150 MPH). "My name's Tucker, not Sucker". He will definitely be missed. Edward was one of a kind.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton, OH 44718. Friends may call from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hennis Care Center of Bolivar Garden Unit or Ohio Health Hospice.
