Elizabeth Betty A. Schweitzer

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Schweitzer, age 90 of Canton, passed away Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 at Emeritus of Canton (The Landing). She was born August 29, 1921 in Magnolia, Ohio, was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Massillon; and with her husband, retired from Ace Carpet Cleaning.

Betty will be remembered for her love of Italian cooking, baking and feeding people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert David Schweitzer; grandson, Kevin Carlone; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son, Ralph (Linda) Carlone; daughters, Linda Meade, and Sharon Schweitzer; seven grandchildren, Christine Taylor, David Taylor, Lori Cooley, Stephen Garrow, Stephanie Garrow, Nicole Garrow, and Brian Carlone; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, 3545 Amherst Ave. NW, Massillon with Rev. Nancy Bacon and Rev. Dennis Engler officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call 5-8pm Wednesday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home and one hour before services Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Crossroads Hospice.
