

She was a graduate of McKinley High School and a member of Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church. Back in the 50’s, Jerry worked at various jobs, from pressing shirts at Quality Cleaners to selling AAA memberships and exercise equipment. Her efforts helped to feed her hungry boys. Her last job was as a volunteer at the McKinley Museum. Jerry’s favorite things were good books, watching Animal Planet, ice cream, wiener dogs and visiting Europe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Shaffer in 1997; five sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Shaffer, and Cliff Shaffer (Nancy); grandchildren, Max Shaffer (Leah), Adrienne Roellgen (Enno), Stacie Shaffer (Mike Stimpson), and Lindsay Means (Greg); three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 25, 2013 in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bryan George officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Thursday, from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Community, 220 Applegrove St. NE, North Canton, OH 44720.
