OBITUARY

Gerald Jerry E. Cain

February 3, 1925September 29, 2013

Gerald E. Cain, age 88 of North Canton, went home with the Lord to join his wife, June on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Bonnie Cain. Better known as “Jerry”, he was always the ‘life of the party’ and was a constant tease and loved by all of his friends and family. He was a member of Raymond Street Church of God and also a lay pastor himself. He was born on Feb. 3, 1925 and served in the Navy in WWII. The most important things in Jerry’s life were his family where you would find him joining in the fun and games with his nieces, nephews, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, especially at the infamous family reunions.

He is survived by his sons David and Bruce (Karen) Cain; sisters, ‘the girls,’ Betty (Kibler) and (Jack) Hawthorne of Lisbon, Evelyn and (John) Toalston of Minerva and Rosemarie and (Bill) Toalston of Salineville, OH; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie from Texas with whom he enjoyed daily conversations.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Cope officiating. Interment will be in North Canton Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Home, 220 Applegrove Street NE, North Canton, Ohio 44720.

I met Jerry when I worked at St. Luke Lutheran Community. He had the greatest smile and was such a pleasure to talk and joke with. May God comfort you all in your loss and may you find peace in knowing that he suffers no more.

I remember you dad and mom from when I was young. He would always play baseball with us when you were at your Uncle Franks. Sorry for your loss.

"I have know Jerry for many years as a friend and mentor in the early years of my ministry. He presented me with a Bible at my ordination service by presenting it as like a wedding ceremony. He always had a smile on his face. He loved the Lord Jesus and his family very deeply and will be joined in heaven by the many people he led to Jesus. May God comfort family in friends by the assurance that He is in heaven today!"
