

Hal was born on January 29, 1923 in Mount Pleasant to the late Howard J. and Pearl (Flynn) Ream. After graduation, Hal joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and served his country honorably in the WWII Asian Pacific Theater until 1945. He married Audrey Hale on November 8, 1948 and enjoyed 72 years of marriage together. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal service for 36 years until his retirement. Hal was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ as well as the oldest member of the church. He was also a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for over 70 years, as well as a member of the Canton Softball Hall of Fame since 2002. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post #44. Hal enjoyed playing cards and even won a few local euchre tournaments. He was a lifelong, die-hard Cleveland Indians baseball fan.
Hal is survived by his loving wife, Audrey, four children: Gayle (David) Noble of Wooster, Harold Ream, Jr. of Navarre, Thomas (Marcy) Ream of Jackson Twp, and Carol (Timothy) Popa of Louisville; eight grandchildren: Donald, Robinson, Elizabeth, and Matthew Noble, Brian and Sean Ream, Caitlin Hudak, and Scott Popa; seven great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Stephanie, Natalie, Charlotte, and James Noble, and Audrey and Hazel Page; two sisters, Betty Ackley and Ida Mae Moses of Canton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Hal is preceded in death by three sisters: Irene Brown, Helen Jenkins, and an infant sister, Beulah.
Per COVID 19 protocols, private services for Harold will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank Grinders on Whipple Avenue for their many years of kindness, the staff of St. Luke’s Lutheran Community of North Canton for their outstanding care of Hal this last month, as well as Crossroads Hospice.
