Helen C. Divens, age 101, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Canton, OH. She was born in Adena, OH on November 27, 1911 to Samuel and Helen (Vegh) Vadasz. Helen was a member of Greentown United Methodist Church and retired from Teledyne-Monarch Rubber Company in 1976 after working for 30 years in the insurance department. She enjoyed watching and listening to the Cleveland Indians, crocheting, painting, reading her bible and decorating cakes and candy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Divens, whom passed in 1967; sisters, Velma Harwell and Elizabeth Hansen; brothers, Francis Vadasz, Paul Vadasz, and Alexander Vadasz. Helen is survived by her niece, Barbara Thompson; nephew, Paul (Roseann) Vadasz; nephew, Howard (Judy) Vadasz; nephew, Robert (Susan) Vadasz; niece, Deanna (Moe Baksh) Harwell; nephew, Lynn (Sharon) Harwell and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Greentown United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the Shepherd’s Gate Assisted Living staff for their loving care of Aunt Helen.
