

James “Jim” Ritz, 70, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on January 4, 1955, Jim lived a life anchored in love, and a deep devotion to those he held dear. He shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with his wife and best friend, Sandy, a partnership defined by loyalty, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a life centered on family, and Jim took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Sandy; his son Edward Marsh (Jennifer)and his three grandchildren, Christian, Maddie, and Ava, who brought endless joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Dayna), their daughter Brielle, and his faithful pup, Izzy, who was always by his side.
Jim is preceded in death by his Father James C. Ritz Sr., his Mother Rosella (Pierno) Ritz, and his sister RoseMarie Rankin (Ritz).
For 19 years, Jim (JR) worked as a Purchasing Manager at Eagle Mark 4 in Mansfield, where his professionalism, work ethic, and kindness earned the respect and admiration of colleagues. Beyond his career, Jim’s true calling was spending time with his family. Whether fishing by the water’s edge, camping under the stars, or simply gathering around the table, he found his greatest happiness in those shared moments. His quiet strength, humor, and warmth made him the kind of man everyone was grateful to know.
Jim’s legacy is one of love, integrity, and devotion. He was an incredible husband, a proud and supportive father, a doting grandfather, a dependable brother, and a loyal friend. His presence will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught through the way he lived will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Services to honor and celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm, where family and friends can gather to share memories and give thanks for a life so well lived. There will be calling hours prior to the memorial service on Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
