Lydia Elizabeth Sanders

Lydia Elizabeth Sanders, age 91, passed away on December 15, 2014 in Canton, Ohio. She was born in Hayesville, North Carolina on October 24, 1923 to Charlie P. and Mary Elizabeth (Grindstaff) Robinson.

She is Preceded in death by her husband, Vestal Sanders; daughter, Shirley Goins; sisters, Ada Mathison, Edna Jones, and Mae Dale; brother, Jesse Robinson; and her parents, Lydia is survived by her sons, Hilliard (Thelma) Sanders, Louisville, OH, James Allan (Dee) Sanders, Ash Grove, MO, Archie (Mary) Sanders, East Canton, OH, Carl (Sandy) Sanders, North Canton, OH; 14 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 26 great–grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Clyde Robinson.

Friends and family may call from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2615 Prairie College St. SW, Canton, OH 44706. The funeral Service will be held at Ivie Funeral Home in Hayesville, North Carolina on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with calling hours from 12-2 p.m. Burial will be in Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery in North Carolina.
