

He was born June 18, 1923 in East Rochester, OH to the late Charles and Blanche (Walter) Merrick. Marion was a graduate of Minerva High School, and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII who served in the Pacific Theater. He was a Ford employee for 37 years, and a member of Perry Christian Church. Marion was an avid gardener and traveler. He and his family found parts of North America even the moose will never find again.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Armstrong, Ida Jane Merrick, and Bessie McCullough; and brothers, Manson, William, and Robert Merrick. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret (Hoover) Merrick; children, Marjorie Merrick of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Lyndin (Brenda) Merrick of Medina, and Marilyn “Polly” (John) Worstell of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Brian (Kimberly) Worstell, Lisa Hills, Ryan (Charley) Merrick, and Tyler Merrick; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ellen Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8pm on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Perry Christian Church. Thank you to the staffs of Bethany Nursing Home, Crossroads Hospice, and Rose Lane Nursing Home for taking such phenomenal care of Marion.
