Mark Lane Ramey

Mark Lane Ramey, 66, of Mogadore, Ohio, passed away on September 4, 2026. Born December 7, 1959, Mark will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady devotion, strength, and a generous spirit that showed itself in both ordinary moments and lasting commitments. His warmth and good humor were gifts freely given, and his loyalty to those he loved never wavered.

Mark graduated from GlenOak High School in 1978. At age 15, he met Deana, beginning a love story rooted in constancy and care. Music was part of Mark’s early life and remained close to him; he played in many bands as a lead singer, bringing people together through song with a natural ease and an uplifting presence.

Mark married Deana DiCato in 1981, and together they built a life defined by partnership and perseverance. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on August 15, 2026—a milestone that reflected years of shared work, shared laughter, and shared faith.

A hard-working man who carried responsibility with humility, Mark worked as a route salesman for Entenmann's Bakery until retiring in 2019.

Mark enjoyed collecting rare and antique bottles and was a member of the Ohio Bottle Club. He also gave generously of his time and leadership as president and head coach of the Thunderbolts Girls Fast Pitch Softball from 1998 to 2007. His love of words and music continued through singing and songwriting, and in 2005 he received the Editor's Choice Award for his poem “Worker Bee.” Above all, Mark cherished his family, and he took special joy in being his grandkids’ biggest fan at sporting events—present, loud and proud, and unfailingly supportive.

Mark was a member of Tallmadge Bible Church, where he served as a deacon. His faith was lived out in consistent service and a kind-hearted concern for others, offering an example that inspired those who knew him well.

In addition to his wife, Deana, Mark is survived by his daughters, Nichole (David) Smith and Beth (Tony) Fulst; grandchildren, Mason and Adelynn Fulst; brothers, Mike (Lola) Ramey, and Jeff Ramey; nephew, Chris (Melinda) Ramey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Elizabeth (nee Close) and Robert Zengler; brother, Myron Ramey; grandparents, Mearl and Duncan Close.

Visitation will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton, OH 44718, on September 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Tallmadge Bible Church, 1155 East Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278, on September 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
