

Mary Ellen was born on July 20, 1931 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Paul E. and Nora (Wagoner) Guenther, Sr. She married Bob "Special K" Krahling on September 1, 1951, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2001. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul E. Guenther, Jr., sister-in-law, Judy Guenther, and brother-in-law, Sam Morris.
Mary Ellen is survived by her loving daughters, Janet (Mike) Reinhart and Nancy (Jeff) Berry, grandchildren, Angie (Pete) Renneker, Missy (Josh) Ansel, Aaron (Julie) Reinhart, Christy (Jason) Hoopes, and Robert Costlow; great-grandchildren, Delaney Renneker, Emma and Natalie Ansel, Addison and Carson Reinhart, Drew Conoboy, Jerrod Hoopes, and Riley Costlow; sister, Diane Morris; several nieces and nephews, special "daughter" Mary Catherine Griffin, beloved neighbors, Laura and John Leiendecker, and Ben.
Mary Ellen retired from GlenOak High School after 25 years as the attendance secretary. She and Bob enjoyed traveling to Peoria, Illinois, Champaign, Illinois, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Maine to visit family. They also went to numerous antique stores, antique fairs, bookstores and sports shops, collecting anything and everything. After Bob passed away, Mary Ellen traveled with her daughters to visit her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary Ellen was an avid reader and she loved to visit with her neighbors, friends, and family. She has lived at Bethany Nursing Home in assisted living for the last 4 years, where she enjoyed amazing care and companionship from everyone who worked there.
The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Bethany Nursing Home, the Baum family, all the nurses and aides, and everyone who works at Bethany for all the tender loving care of Mary Ellen and her family, especially Janet and Nancy. Bethany truly is the best of the best! The family also wishes to thank Ron Karlo, Steve Libby, and Brooklyn Dawson of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home for their professional knowledge, kindness, and excellent care of Mary Ellen and family.
A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd NW, Canton, Ohio 44718, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. Per Mary Ellen's wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
