

Mildred (Millie) S. Honold age 84, passed away on October 11, 2015. She was born on Jan. 25, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Charles and Emma (Pavlis) Suchma. Millie was a graduate of Malone College and Kent State University. She taught fifth and sixth grade for six years in North Canton before becoming the district reading specialist for twelve years and setting up the Title I reading program for the school district. For eight years she was the supervisor for language arts and finished her career in education as the supervisor for elementary instruction for one year. Millie was selected as a Jennings Scholar in 1975. She was also chosen to be in the Hall of Distinction in 2001 for significant contributions to education in North Canton. She was very involved in PTA being an educator and a mother of three children.
Millie was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for 44 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 40 years and a past president of the Jaycee-ettes.
Millie enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, traveling, and a good book.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted, of 63 years. She is survived by sons, Ted (Kristin) Honold of California, David (Linda) Honold of Ohio, daughter, Susan (Bruce) Hidy of Virginia; brother Donald (Kathy) Suchma of Massachusetts, sister-in-law Carole (Charles) Suchman of California; grandchildren, Nathan (Elizabeth) Honold, Matthew (Kathleen) Honold, Whitney (Peter) Wittmann all of Ohio, Kevin Honold of New York, Megan (William) Mahone VI of California, Christopher (Jill) Hidy of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Graham and Owen Honold, and Hailey Honold, all of Ohio.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 4-7pm at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd., Canton, OH 44718. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00am at Trinity United Church of Christ, 3909 Blackburn Rd. NW, Canton, OH 44718 with a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, The Student Loan Foundation of North Canton, P.O.
