Patricia Ann Park

Pat was a smart, vibrant, social woman who treasured her time with family and friends. She proudly graduated as the valedictorian of the North Canton High School Class of 1952, where she showcased her love for music by playing in both the orchestra and the marching band. Following high school, she went on to work as a customer service representative at Ohio Bell. Married at 20, she and her husband, Jim, spent two memorable years stationed in Italy with the Navy before returning home to start their family and begin their 71-year journey together.

Throughout her life, she found great joy in traveling with her husband, dining at exceptional restaurants, sharing good wine, and getting lost in a great book. Pat was devoted to providing a warm and welcoming home for her family, building a beautiful life with her beloved husband, and cherishing her children and grandchildren above all else.

As a mother, Pat loved staying active in her young children’s lives, frequently serving as a room mother, a chaperone, and a member of the PTA. A voracious reader all her life, she volunteered at the school to help students build their reading skills and confidence, while also finding time to serve with Meals on Wheels and stay involved in her local church.

As the adoring grandmother they affectionately called Gigi, she loved nothing more than hosting sleepovers, treating them to special outings, and celebrating their many games, concerts, and milestones with immense pride. Gigi showered them with love, made every birthday and holiday magical, and cherished watching them grow into the wonderful people they are today.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Park; her daughter, Linda McDonald (Rick); her grandchildren: Nicole and Andy; her sister-in-law, Kay Reiss; and her fourteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Park; and her brothers: Rollin Reiss, Dick Reiss, Bob Reiss, Art Reiss, and Alan Reiss.

Per her wishes, Pat will be privately laid to rest at Sunset Hills Burial Park. A Celebration of Life for her will be held at a later date.
