Philip James Mazi

Phil was born in Youngstown on September 11, 1944, to the late Joseph and Mary (Molnar) Mazi. After graduating from Rayen High School, he attended Youngstown State until 1962, when he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He served in the Coast Guard until 1966, when he was honorably discharged. Phil then went on to work as an installer in the Fire & Security business for over 40 years until he retired in 2019. On April 25, 1992, he married Barbara (Guisinger) Mazi and enjoyed 33 years of marriage together. Phil was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Phil liked to work with his hands and was frequently fixing things. He also enjoyed going to the zoo with Barbara, and spending time outdoors going on walks, hiking, and fishing.

Phil is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, five children: Michelle, Stephanie, Stacy, Keyo, and Melissa; six grandchildren: Tom, Brandon, Josh, Lauren, Mya, Ryan; one great-grandchild, Chloe, two sisters, Joan and Mary, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Phil is preceded in death by one sister, Judy and two brothers, Joe and John.

Per his wishes, Phil will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 am. The family will greet friends and family prior to the memorial service from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Friday.
