
Richard was born on December 2, 1943, in Alliance to the late Raymond and Marie (Barkey) Chenevey. He was a graduate of the 1962 class of Alliance High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Air Force and served until he was honorably discharged in 1966. During that time, he served in the Vietnam War. On June 16, 1967, he married Cheryl (Waller) Chenevey, who he is survived by. After serving in the Air Force, he worked in maintenance for Waltz Camera for about 10 years. He then moved onto work for Buckeye Color Lab until he retired as Maintenance Manager in 2009. In his free time, he enjoyed watching movies, shooting and going to gun shows, and riding his motorcycle.
Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cheryl, his children, Steven (Kathy) Chenevey and Mark (Dinah) Chenevey, two grandchildren, Zackery (Amanda) and Gage Chenevey, one step-granddaughter, Jessica Depew, one great-grandchild, Jennifer, six siblings: Jack, Fred, Tim, Karen, Debbi, and Jimmy, many nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Gayle and Vicki, and one brother-in-law, Brian.
Along with his parents, Raymond and Marie, he is preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Nancy and Karen.
Per his wishes, Richard will be cremated and will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Burial Park at a later date.
