

Richard G. Snellgrove, age 88, of North Canton passed away Tuesday morning, August 21, 2012 due to heart failure. He was born June 6, 1924 in Erie, PA to the late Isabell and Roland Snellgrove. Richard graduated from Erie East High School and attended Mount Union College. He was employed at Goodyear Aerospace for 25 years in engineering and purchasing, and then retired from Loral in 1989.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie (Albers); three daughters, Leslie (Bob) Rivers, Lizabeth (Mark) Forchione, Leigh Ann (Kevin) Busto; grandchildren, Jason Rivers, Christopher Forchione, Adam, Katelynn, Jeremy, and Ian Busto; brother, Albert (Mary Ellen) Snellgrove and sister Jean (John) Philippi.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and received the Meritorious Unit Award and the WWII Victory Medal. Richard was also an Eagle Scout and helped with the local Boy Scouts.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home as well as an hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
