He was born August 21, 1926 to the late Alfred and Rose (Philippi) Adkins. Bob was a graduate of Timken High School, and an Army veteran of WWII. He retired after 40 years at Ford Motor Company. Bob was a life member of both VFW Post #7490, Louisville, and Game Reserve Association, and held membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Louisville #2374 and Werner United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Mazzocca. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna Adkins; sons, Douglas (Dixie) Adkins, and Kelly Adkins; and grandchildren, Hannah Rose, Audrie Rose, and Adam Robert Adkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call from 1-3pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
