

Born July 6, 1924 in Canton, Ohio he graduated from St. Johns High School and served in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific from June 8, 1942 to December 10, 1945. VSMB 341, 342, 243. He served in the Solomon Islands, Admiralty Island, Lingayen Gulf, Luzon and Zamboanga, Mindinao Philippine Islands.
He studied pre-law at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Graduated from William McKinley School of Law and was admitted into the practice of law in September 1952.
He is preceded in death by his parents John P. and Pauline (Fladung) Mylett, sister Miriam (Mylett) Laubacher, his first wife Norma Lee Mylett, twin son and daughter Jeffrey M. Mylett and Jennifer M. May.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann (O'Neill, Brumbaugh) Mylett, brother Patrick Mylett and wife Diane Mylett of North Canton, Ohio, daughter Lesa C. Setters and son-in-law Larry Setters of Clinton, Montana, son, Sean P. Mylett of Palm Springs, California, step-daughters Barbara A. Buehler and husband Trevor Beuhler of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Lynn M. Saul and husband David Saul of Hilliard, Ohio, step-sons Greg Bumbaugh of Hudson, Ohio and Mark Brumbaugh of New Philadelphia, Ohio. His grandchildren include, Mehera E. May of San Francisco, California, James May and wife Megan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, William May of Madison, Wisconsin, Robert Setters of Clinton, Montana, William Buehler and wife Kristy of Evergreen, Colorado, Brenton Beuhler and wife Monica of North Canton, Ohio, Patrick, Blake and Michael Saul of Hilliard, Ohio, Nicholas and Jacob Brumbaugh of Hudson, Ohio.
He was the first General Counsel of the Stark County Legal Aid Society and Law Director for the Village and City of North Canton, Ohio. He was associated with the law firm of Seiple, Hinton, Zink and Klide until he was appointed judge of the Canton Municipal Court by Governor James Rhodes, to succeed the late Honorable Novak Marku. In 1983, he was appointed to the Stark County Family Court to succeed the Honorable John R. Milligan. He retired from service in December 1988.
He belonged to the Marine Corps Association American Legion Post 44, the Retired Executives and Professional Men's Club, Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, Former member of the Stark County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Porky's Old Timers, Toastmasters, and American Legion Club 637.
He will be missed.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Tuesday May 29, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton on Wednesday May 30, 2012 with Msgr. James Clarke officiating.
