I noticed Bob’s US Navy flag always flying in front of his house, I was anxious to meet a fellow Navy Veteran. I saw him walking his dogs and stopped to introduce myself. I was elated to learn he was a fellow Chief! I invited him to “El Cid Day”, the annual Chief picnic I host, we made him the guest of honor the first year he attended. We all enjoyed sharing sea stories with him! Not only will we miss him at our picnics, I’ll miss stopping to visit with him when he walked his dogs. Bob was a true American Hero!! Rest your oars Shipmate.
