Robert William Stanley

Bob was born in Canton on November 14, 1951, to R. Don and Carolyn (Deal) Stanley. He was a graduate of the 1969 class of Jackson High School. He worked as a banker for a few years before he decided to become a certified firefighter. After he earned his certification, Bob worked at Jackson Fire Department for 27 years until he retired at the rank of Captain. While he was working as a firefighter, he also worked as a paramedic for Stark Ambulance. Bob married his first wife, Rebecca Montgomery, in 1975, and shared about 25 years of marriage together. In 2002, Bob married Rebecca Locker, and they celebrated almost 19 years of marriage together before her passing in 2021. Bob was involved in The Boys & Girls Club for a number of years. In his free time, Bob enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with his friends and family.

Bob is survived by his mother, Carolyn Stanley, his son, Ryan Stanley, two siblings, Sue (Rusty) Miller and Greg (Tammy) Stanley, and numerous stepchildren and grandchildren from his second marriage.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, R. Don Stanley, and his second wife, Rebecca (Locker) Stanley.

A graveside service will be held for Bob at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 7920 Frank Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720 on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
