Ruth Ann Cottrill

Born January 18, 1942 in Massillon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Thompson and Lydia Weekley Thompson.

She was a high school graduate and had a career as a government office manager. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cake decorating, crafts and her book club activities.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Cottrill, her daughter, Robyn Hinchy, son, Brian Cottrill (Kelly), grandson Robert “Bobby” Hinchy (Chloe), great granddaughters, Flora Hinchy and Matilda Hinchy, sister-in-law Patricia Charles (Larry), brother-in-law, Charles Cottrill (Betty), along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road, NW, Canton, Ohio on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to service time. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
